Yes…I’m back. Probably not for very long though, so don’t hold yer breaths.
A friend contacted me through my ‘blog’…which I was horrified at. Not because she contacted me, but because it was through my blog. At first I thought, ”my WHAT?”.
Ah, that atrocious written piece of junk - that I actually abandoned aaaages ago.
I read some of it back, and quite frankly, found myself disgusted by many of the self righteous, opinionated passages before me. So, after much panicking about a forgotten password and username on wordpress, I managed to find my dashboard and hit ‘edit’.
I apologise unreservedly for getting up anyone’s nose……I managed to get up my own.
So, where are we now? Two years, a ton of white hairs, Shrek 4, approximately12+ cats (in n out), and two more children later, I have tuned back into big hole that is blogshere.
For those of you who harbored fears and fantasies (not naming any names J-bug) of me either being locked away in some cave, or being trapped away in an exotic harem, or maybe combine the two and you find me trapped in an exotic harem carved into rock, I’m not.
Nope, I have not as much caught whiff of a harem, and we did drive up a big rock last year, well barely, the old man had his eyes closed the whole time…and he was driving.
Much, much, much has happened in this time, and the sad thing about distance is that it becomes very hard to maintain those intimate relationships with family and friends where the regularity of contact means much is shared, much is cared, and it’s easy to keep that momentum up. So, many of you have missed out on what’s been happening in my life, just as I have missed out on yours. But it doesn’t mean we have forgotten each other, and it doesn’t mean we don’t care.
Aaaaanyway, someone recently got in touch asking advice on life out here. Since I have had many people asking the same question over these three years, I thought it may be better to answer here on the blog, then it’s out there floating in blogspace for quite a while for anyone to access.
So, in my next installment I shall attempt to address some of our experiences and observations here.
